Environmental Experts Discuss Kingdom’s Initiatives at FAO

Rome, An official Saudi delegation led by National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) CEO Dr. Khaled Alabdulkader took part here in a scientific event organized by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The Saudi delegation discussed the latest developments and challenges facing the world in combating land degradation, highlighting Saudi Arabia's efforts and readiness to host in Riyadh the 16th edition of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and Land Degradation, scheduled to be held in December. The delegation comprised representatives from the National Center for Environmental Compliance, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, and several government bodies concerned with desertification, as well as the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to FAO Dr. Mohammed Al-Ghamdi.
