FNC and European Parliament Officials Engage in Strategic Dialogue on International Developments

Strasbourg: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), recently engaged in discussions with Bernard Guetta, Member of the European Parliament and Foreign Affairs Coordinator for the Renew Europe Group, focusing on regional and international developments.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place at the European Parliament headquarters in Strasbourg. The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation between the FNC and the European Parliament, with particular attention to developments in the Middle East and efforts to bolster regional and international security and stability.

Al Nuaimi highlighted the necessity of reinforcing parliamentary and diplomatic collaboration to tackle current challenges such as extremism, hate speech, and the exploitation of religion for political and ideological purposes. He emphasized the importance of fostering tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue among diverse peoples and cultures.

Al Nuaimi noted that the UAE remains committed to a consistent approach that supports peace, stability, and development, while advocating for moderation, openness, and investment in education as a means of protecting younger generations from extremism and harmful ideologies.

The discussions also addressed the significance of securing maritime corridors and ensuring freedom of international navigation. Additionally, they underscored the need for enhanced international cooperation to combat foreign interference and disinformation campaigns that threaten the security and stability of states and societies.

Guetta commended the UAE's contributions to regional and international security and stability, as well as its endeavors to promote tolerance, moderation, and international dialogue in addressing shared challenges.
