Budapest: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), and L¡szl³ K¶v©r, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, have signed a parliamentary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between their respective countries. The MoU focuses on promoting security, stability, and peace, alongside a commitment to protecting human rights and bolstering bilateral relations in support of shared interests such as sustainable development, future foresight, innovation, and the exchange of parliamentary knowledge and expertise. This agreement was formalized during Ghobash’s official visit to Hungary, where he led an FNC delegation.
According to Emirates News Agency, both parties expressed a strong desire to enhance consultation and exchange views on issues of mutual interest. They emphasized the importance of upholding international conventions, particularly the Charter of the United Nations, international law, international humanitarian law, and ratified international agreements in accordance with national procedures. The MoU also highlights respect for fundamental principles of international cooperation, including national sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, and refraining from the use of force in resolving international disputes.
Following the MoU’s signing, a joint statement was issued by both sides, commending the robust and developing bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Hungary. The statement reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation, fostering constructive dialogue, and promoting values of peace, stability, and sustainable development through parliamentary diplomacy.
