Manama:The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, emphasized the significance of the 15th Consultative Meeting between the Ministers of Commerce and Heads of the Federations of GCC Chambers as a strategic platform for dialogue among policymakers, decision-makers, and private sector representatives.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, held in Manama, Bahrain, was chaired by Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Bahrain's Minister of Industry and Commerce and the current session's Chairman. It represents the highest level of engagement between government officials and the private sector, aiming to strengthen cooperation, boost economic growth across GCC member states, and address regional and global economic challenges.
Albudaiwi noted the private sector's crucial role in achieving national objectives within GCC member states and advancing joint Gulf cooperation. He highlighted the meeting's focus on identifying challenges faced by the Gulf private sector and developing solutions in line with GCC leaders' directives to enhance the sector's support and contribution to economic integration.
In his concluding remarks, Albudaiwi expressed hopes that the meeting would lead to initiatives supporting private sector growth, thereby serving as a robust economic engine contributing to stability and development. He also emphasized the importance of bolstering the GCC's global standing as a leading financial, investment, and economic hub.
