Hamdan bin Mohammed Oversees Agreement to Expand Hewi Dubai Initiative in Al Barsha and Muhaisnah

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement aimed at expanding the Hewi Dubai initiative in Al Barsha and Muhaisnah. This agreement marks a collaboration between Dubai Municipality, the General Construction Company, and Binghatti to further develop these communities as part of the ongoing expansion of the 'Hewi Dubai' initiative.

According to Emirates News Agency, the partnership supports Dubai Municipality's efforts to enhance community engagement, improve quality of life, and strengthen the role of neighborhood spaces in fostering social connections and local identity, aligning with Dubai's urban and social development plans. The agreement was signed by Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality; Hamad Ali Saif Lootah, Chairman of the General Construction Company; and Abdullah Binghatti, Head of Sales at Binghatti, in the presence of senior officials from the involved entities.

Through this collaboration, Dubai Municipality aims to continue advancing a development model that leverages both public and private sector expertise. This model seeks to create new community destinations that cater to the evolving needs of residents. The Municipality is also open to engaging additional investors, partners, and developers to contribute to the success of Hewi Dubai at future locations across the emirate.

Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita emphasized the initiative's objective to transform neighborhood courtyards and facilities into inclusive environments that promote social interaction, connectivity, and cohesion, while enhancing quality of life through thoughtful urban and architectural planning. Mohammed Binghatti, Chairman of Binghatti, expressed pride in partnering with Dubai Municipality and the General Construction Company, emphasizing the initiative's role in fostering social cohesion and supporting healthy, connected, and sustainable lifestyles.

Abdullah Binghatti highlighted the partnership as a valuable opportunity to develop integrated community spaces that enhance social interaction, support local identity, and elevate quality of life. The Hewi Dubai initiative, developed in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, aims to create contemporary community spaces that encourage interaction among residents and provide welcoming environments for senior citizens, children, and families.

The initiative seeks to revive the spirit of the traditional Emirati fareej through modern approaches, with key architectural elements like the Dajja and Saha designed to support community engagement. Dubai Municipality continues to oversee the development of public and recreational facilities to enhance urban liveability and reinforce Dubai's position as a global benchmark for quality of life.
