Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has attended panel discussions during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026. The event, hosted by Masdar at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, will run until 15 January under the theme "The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go."
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions centered on enhancing international cooperation, building strategic partnerships, and advancing innovative solutions to tackle global challenges across sectors like energy, water, and sustainable investment. The sessions convened heads of state, senior officials, policymakers, global business leaders, and experts in climate action and sustainability.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled participated in high-level panel discussions that explored opportunities for cross-border partnerships, emphasizing international cooperation's role in energy security, sustainable infrastructure, and regional economic development. Attendees included the President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye; President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic; Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama; Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze; and Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic.
Sheikh Khaled highlighted sustainability as a key pillar in the UAE's development journey, balancing economic growth with natural resource preservation. He noted the UAE's commitment to investing in innovative solutions for a competitive, knowledge-based, and innovation-driven economy, guided by the leadership's vision.
The panel discussions also focused on accelerating clean energy transitions, improving water resource management efficiency, and expanding innovation's role in economic and environmental sustainability. Additionally, they underscored the need for coordinated efforts among governments, the private sector, and financial institutions to support sustainable project financing.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week seeks to foster cooperation and partnerships for a sustainable future by advancing climate action efforts, developing practical solutions to sustainability challenges, and ensuring a balanced approach to environmental, economic, and social development.
