Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has visited the Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) Hub, a Masdar initiative dedicated to empowering the next generation of sustainability leaders. His visit took place during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2026, which is being held at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi until January 15.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Khaled met several members of the Y4S and was informed about the key programmes and initiatives showcased at this year's event. These initiatives are designed to enhance youth skills and leadership capabilities in addressing sustainability challenges through innovative solutions. The focus is on advancing sustainability on both local and global levels.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled also engaged in discussions with Y4S organisers, praising their efforts in educating, training, and empowering young individuals to actively participate in climate action and sustainability across different sectors. He stressed the necessity of an integrated approach to youth empowerment, ensuring that young people are prepared to be active partners in shaping a sustainable future.
Furthermore, H.H. Sheikh Khaled underscored the importance of using advanced innovations, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge technologies to create a significant, lasting impact in the environmental and energy sectors globally.
During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by several key officials, including Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of Masdar; Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport - Abu Dhabi; Dr. Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Department of Energy - Abu Dhabi; and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince.
The Y4S Pavilion offers panel discussions and open dialogue with leading experts, showcases youth-driven projects and innovations, and promotes collaboration with young talents and entrepreneurs focused on sustainability. It attracts senior government officials, business leaders, and experts in sustainability and climate action, reinforcing its global role in promoting climate dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships.
