Korea’s ICT Exports Reach Record $47.79 Billion in May

Seoul: The Republic of Korea's exports of information and communication technology (ICT) products reached a record high in May, with shipments totaling $47.79 billion. This increase was largely driven by the demand for semiconductors and products related to the artificial intelligence ecosystem.

According to Emirates News Agency, the outbound ICT shipments showed a surge of 128.9 percent compared to the $20.88 billion recorded in the same month last year. The data, released by the Ministry of Science and ICT, indicated that this was the first time monthly ICT exports have surpassed the $40 billion mark for three consecutive months.

The ministry attributed this growth to the expanding global demand for technologies that support AI infrastructure. The significant rise in semiconductor exports played a pivotal role in achieving this milestone, highlighting Korea's position as a leader in ICT innovation and exportation.
