Latifa bint Mohammed Engages Creative Team Behind Season of Wulfa Initiative

Dubai: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), recently convened with the creative team behind the Season of Wulfa initiative, which was launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The initiative, led by H.H. Sheikha Latifa, aims to celebrate key cultural occasions such as Haq Al Leila, Ramadan, and Eid, expressing traditions, values, and cultural identity while fostering community bonds and cultural exchange.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Season of Wulfa involves a collective of Emirati creatives from various fields including design, architecture, literature, media, arts, and cultural research. Their diverse expertise contributes to shaping the season's cultural narrative, ensuring it is authentic and aligned with local culture. This collaboration supports Dubai's approach to strengthening social cohesion and promoting tolerance, as envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

H.H. Sheikha Latifa highlighted that the Season of Wulfa, through its pillars of reflection, connection, and blessing, embodies the values of Emirati, Arab, and Islamic cultures. The initiative aims to strengthen community ties, promote cultural heritage, and encourage creativity, aligning with Dubai's vision of sustainable development through cultural investment.

The meeting included representatives from several Dubai government institutions and partners, such as The Executive Council of Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and others. The gathering also featured a group of creatives and cultural ambassadors, led by Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Arts, Design, and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, who shared insights on the initiative's role in reflecting local society's spirit and heritage.

Participants of the meeting discussed key milestones and research outcomes, emphasizing the importance of the Season of Wulfa in expressing authentic values and traditions. They noted that extensive dialogue and community testing were integral to defining the season's vision and strategy, paving the way for continued engagement and development of new models that transform traditions into meaningful experiences.

The Season of Wulfa will see over 50 initiatives and activities across more than 30 locations in Dubai, implemented in collaboration with government entities, the private sector, and local communities, ensuring cultural continuity and enrichment.
