Ras al khaimah: Ras Al Khaimah International Airport marked a significant milestone by surpassing the one-million-passenger mark in 2025, with total passenger numbers reaching 1,000,303. This achievement highlights the airport's growth and its emerging status as a regional hub for air transport.
According to Emirates News Agency, the airport expanded its flight network, reaching 16 international destinations, including India, Pakistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Egypt. This expansion is a testament to the airport's transition into a medium-to-large category, driven by effective operational and development plans.
Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and the Board of Directors of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, emphasized the success of the airport's operational and development strategy. He highlighted the airport's ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure, operational readiness, and delivering a comprehensive travel experience aligned with international standards.
Sheikh Salem noted that, as part of the 2025 projects, the airport completed several developments, including improvements to passenger facilities, upgrades to operational systems, and expanded air connectivity to support tourism and commerce. These projects have positioned the airport to meet future growth.
In collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Civil Aviation, the airport implemented key initiatives such as launching the Drone Management System, forming strategic partnerships, conducting awareness campaigns, and renewing international ISO certifications. These efforts were recognized with the First Runner-Up award in the Arab Award for Social Responsibility and Sustainability.
Operationally, the airport recorded a 14 percent increase in destinations, a 51 percent rise in passenger numbers, and a 37 percent increase in flights. All strategic projects were completed successfully, contributing to a 29.4 percent improvement in net profits and reinforcing the airport's capacity for sustainable growth.
Sheikh Salem attributed these achievements to the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi and the support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi. Their guidance has fostered innovation, improved institutional performance, and empowered the airport to achieve milestones that bolster its role as a regional connectivity hub and support the Emirate's economic activities.
