According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, led the session, highlighting national efforts to reinforce cultural identity amid rapid technological advancements. He presented the Council’s strategies to promote digital awareness and foster a society capable of confronting cybersecurity challenges effectively.
The dialogue emphasized the role of the digital age in consolidating national identity and preserving Emirati cultural values within a secure online environment. It was noted that cultural identity is vital for maintaining psychological balance and social cohesion. Technology and digital innovation act as bridges, connecting individuals with their heritage and communities through digital archives, allowing access to history and cultural identity.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti stated that while technology offers opportunities to strengthen cultural bonds, it is crucial to engage with digital content critically to preserve cultural authenticity. He pointed out that technology enables learning and engagement with heritage through applications, AI tools, and virtual lessons, while virtual and augmented reality can foster cross-cultural understanding. These technologies, however, must be used responsibly to avoid cultural appropriation.
