NMO Concludes Media Pioneers Council Meeting in Dubai

Dubai: The National Media Office (NMO) held the final session of the Media Pioneers Council in Dubai. The event was attended by key figures including Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the NMO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Media Council; Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary General of the UAE Media Council; and Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director-General of the NMO.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting marked the end of a series of periodic engagements organized by the NMO. These engagements were aimed at reviewing completed proposals and exploring the perspectives of members on the future trajectory of the UAE media landscape. The discussions sought to enhance the country's media strategy, align with the aspirations of the leadership, and adapt to technological changes in the media sector.

In his address, Al Hamed emphasized the significance of the meeting as a key milestone in the ongoing dialogue with Emirati media pioneers. He acknowledged the foundational role these media leaders have played through their extensive experience and forward-looking vision. Al Hamed highlighted that the interactions stem from a belief in the media pioneers as a repository of knowledge, crucial for shaping the future of media by building on their pioneering experiences.

He expressed gratitude to the pioneers who have been instrumental in narrating the nation's achievements and conveying the aspirations of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to the world. Al Hamed reaffirmed the NMO's commitment to implementing the pioneers' insights and recommendations through practical programs aimed at enhancing the national media ecosystem.

Mohammed Al Shehhi reviewed the achievements of the UAE Media Council, noting its accomplishments in strengthening its role within the media landscape. These achievements reflect an integrated institutional approach and have positioned the UAE media sector as one of the fastest-growing sectors globally.

Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi highlighted milestones achieved by the NMO, emphasizing the establishment of an integrated framework balancing modern legislation with forward-looking media strategies. He noted that this approach safeguards the UAE's reputation and reinforces an Emirati media narrative defined by credibility.

The meeting featured presentations by the Media Pioneers Council's teams, showcasing notable outcomes achieved by its five teams. These outcomes reflected integrated efforts that generated practical visions supporting media development. Ahmed Salem, Head of the Media Affairs Team, noted the initiative's deep awareness of benefiting from the experiences of Emirati media professionals.

Ahmed Al Jasmi, Head of the Content and Television, Film and Theatre Production Team, stressed the importance of accumulated media expertise in developing the media landscape. Mohammad Al Jokar, Head of the Press and Print Media Team, highlighted the initiative as a qualitative step in embedding the value of accumulated expertise. Khalid Al Badour, Head of the Radio and Television Team, emphasized the added value of the council to media work. Ahmed Al Alawi, Head of the Digital Media Team, described the council as an important platform for leveraging accumulated expertise in building Emirati media.
