Sharjah Chamber Completes Strategic Leadership Programme with Oxford and Cambridge

Abu Dhabi:The Sharjah Training and Development Center (STDC), under the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has successfully concluded the Oxford and Cambridge Strategic Leadership Programme, aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of employees from both government and private sectors in Sharjah.

According to Emirates News Agency, the programme is part of STDC's initiative to offer international programmes that enhance leadership capabilities, improve organisational readiness, and help professionals manage the evolving business landscape.

A segment of the programme was hosted at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, providing participants with workshops, leadership sessions, field visits, and cultural activities. Academics and experts from Oxford and Cambridge universities contributed to the sessions.

The training covered essential topics such as leadership in the age of artificial intelligence, workplace technological transformation, governance, change management, and strategic decision-making. It also addressed leadership identity, organisational culture, industrial sustainability, and cybersecurity in an AI-driven environment, as well as strategies for navigating uncertainty and crises.

Participants engaged in practical experiences and visited key sites like the BMW MINI Plant in Oxford, Oxford University Press, and the Moller Institute at Churchill College, Cambridge, supplemented by educational and cultural tours.

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General of the Support Services Sector at SCCI, highlighted that the programme underscores SCCI's dedication to contemporary training that builds leadership capabilities and facilitates adaptation to workplace changes. Amal Abdullah Al Ali, Director of STDC, emphasized that the programme blends leadership knowledge with practical application and exposure to international practices, focusing on preparing leaders for future challenges.

The programme concluded with a ceremony honoring the participants, who appreciated the training's themes and content. This event marked the end of a week-long leadership experience aimed at applying acquired knowledge for lasting organisational impact and improved resource utilisation.
