Abu dhabi: On the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025, Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement (Tawazun) and Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. (Pilatus), a Swiss aircraft manufacturer, signed an agreement to expand cooperation in the production of PC-12 PRO composite parts. These parts will be manufactured by Strata Manufacturing PJSC (Strata), an advanced manufacturing company wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement also reaffirms the continuation of the existing Strata-Pilatus partnership across five current work packages. This collaboration will be expanded through an offset project dedicated to manufacturing PC-12 PRO composite components, supported by Tawazun. The initiative reflects Tawazun's commitment to enhancing national manufacturing capabilities and advancing global partnerships in dual-use technologies.
Since its inception, Strata has manufactured over 31,500 components and delivered more than 1,140 shipments from its Al Ain facility to Switzerland, including various parts for the PC-24, such as Flap Track Fairings and Tail Cones. This agreement was signed in the presence of key figures from Tawazun, Mubadala, Pilatus, and Strata.
Majed Saif Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Tawazun Economic Programme, stated that the partnership with Strata and Pilatus demonstrates strong collaboration between Emirati and global industry leaders. Sara Al Memari, Acting CEO of Strata, expressed pride in Strata's contribution to the global aerospace sector, highlighting the UAE's manufacturing achievements.
Johan van Nieuwenhuizen, Director of Industrial Participation at Pilatus, emphasized the milestone of delivering 100 shipsets for the Pilatus PC-24 Super Versatile Jet. The new project to extend composite manufacturing to the PC-12 PRO marks an important step in strengthening Pilatus's relationship with Strata and the UAE, continuing a partnership that spans over three decades.
