The Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, reaffirmed the need to quickly open Sana'a International Airport to all destinations to save the Yemeni people who are subjected to looting, killing, cutting off and suffering on the roads.
Al-Durra said, during his meeting today in Sana'a, Director of the Office of the UN Representative to Yemen Mrs. Roxana Bazirgan, that "passengers of all categories, patients, expatriates, students, and academics leaving and returning through Aden Airport are subjected to looting, killing, and disruption due to security chaos, the latest of which was the kidnapping of academic Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Zubairi last Thursday upon his return from Cairo via Aden Airport, and his fate is still unknown.
Minister Al-Durra called for the necessity of canceling the inspection committee in Djibouti for ships heading to Hodeida port, because of the great losses they cause to merchants, importers and consumers as a result of the delay of up to three weeks, especially as most of the ships come from the ports of the aggression countries.
In turn, Bazirgan pointed out, during the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, and the Chargé affairs of Yemeni Airlines, Khalil Jahaf, to the importance of opening Sana'a International Airport to multiple destinations to alleviate the Yemeni people's suffering.
The meeting discussed the flights allocated to the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God through Sana'a International Airport and the need to open important destinations such as Cairo, India and others as a human right guaranteed by international charters, laws and agreements, foremost of which is the Chicago International Convention.
