ABU DHABI: The Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-Stat) has announced that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ranks among the world’s most prosperous societies. The report highlights the UAE’s position as a global hub for the new economy, featuring a highly competitive economic environment, flexible human capital, and an innovation-driven infrastructure that is shaping the future.
According to Emirates News Agency, the report emphasizes the UAE’s comprehensive social system, which includes advanced education opportunities and a nurturing community. The country is recognized for its commitment to international cooperation, contributing to global growth, stability, and environmental sustainability. With a forward-thinking government that supports the rule of law and human rights, the UAE has established a technologically advanced and interconnected infrastructure.
The report was released in conjunction with the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations and underscores the
UAE’s dedication to sustainable development, as outlined in the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision. The UAE has made significant progress in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as high rates of medically supervised births, access to basic services and electricity, and disaster risk reduction strategies. The nation also leads globally in several indicators, including Global Trade, Maritime Protection, and Competitiveness in Green Hydrogen Production.
Furthermore, the UAE ranks first in the Arab world in the Human Development Index, Best Performing Education Systems, and Gender Inequality Index for 2024. The GCC-Stat report affirms that sustainable development remains central to the UAE’s vision and future ambitions, showcasing its achievements across various fields and levels.
