Abu dhabi: The UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC), in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), CrowdStrike, and e and, has announced the launch of the AWS/CTIB Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator Programme. This initiative aims to foster the development of 'Made in UAE' cybersecurity solutions.
According to Emirates News Agency, this government-backed, multi-year programme seeks to accelerate over 500 cybersecurity startups, offering them access to regional funding and global technological expertise. It aligns with the vision established by the UAE Cybersecurity Technology Innovation Bureau (UAE CTIB) in May 2025 and represents a significant step in enhancing the UAE's cybersecurity ecosystem.
The programme provides startups with 1:1 mentorship and personalized support, focusing on equipping them with the resources needed to address emerging global cyber threats. Participants will benefit from AWS's expertise in cloud computing, UAE CSC's regulatory support, CrowdStrike's cybersecurity knowledge, and e and Group's market reach in the region.
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, emphasized the programme's role as a cornerstone of the UAE's National Cybersecurity Strategy. Hart Rossman of AWS highlighted the collaboration's aim to build sustainable cybersecurity innovation ecosystems. Elias Matta of CrowdStrike discussed empowering startups with advanced technology insights, while Harrison Lung of e and underlined the programme's contribution to national resilience and digital economy growth.
The AWS/CTIB Startup Accelerator Programme offers a comprehensive ecosystem that includes technical architecture, market entry, and funding support. Startups will utilize AWS's global cloud infrastructure and security services, focusing on solutions leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence for threat detection.
The initiative supports the UAE's National Cybersecurity Strategy by connecting startups with government, enterprise, and academic partners. It strengthens the UAE's position as a leader in advanced cybersecurity technologies within the Middle East market, anticipated to reach US$31 billion by 2030. The first global call for applications will be in December 2025, targeting both UAE and international cybersecurity startups.
