LONDON, June 06, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rovio Entertainment Corporation, SEGA, and Namit Malhotra’s production company Prime Focus Studios, announced today that they are starting production on The Angry Birds Movie 3, with DNEG Animation attached as animation partner. Prime Focus Studios, Rovio, and SEGA will produce the movie in association with One Cool Group, Flywheel Media, and dentsu.

The third installment in the franchise will follow the continuing adventures of Red and Chuck, voiced once again by Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso, SNL, We’re the Millers) and Josh Gad (Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Gutenberg!, Murder on the Orient Express). Jason Sudeikis is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and TAG. Josh Gad is represented by Sugar 23, CAA and JSSK. More casting news will be coming soon.

The film follows the success of the first two Angry Birds movies, which together have grossed more than $500m at the worldwide box office and have demonstrated fantastic results on streaming platforms, signalling strong demand for the third theatrical installment.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 will be directed by John Rice (Angry Birds, Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe). The screenplay will be written by Thurop Van Orman (Angry Birds 2, Adventure Time, Flapjack), who will also executive produce alongside Toru Nakahara (Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Prime, Golden Axe). The film will be produced by John Cohen (Despicable Me, The Garfield Movie, Angry Birds), Dan Chuba (The Mitchells vs. the Machines), and Carla Connor (The Willoughbys).

Returning to the Angry Birds design team is Jeanie Chang as production designer and Francesca Natale as character designer. The head of story is Vadim Bazhanov and the lead editor is Sarah K. Reimers. Storyboards, art development, and animation will be handled by DNEG Animation.

Rovio and SEGA will produce alongside Namit Malhotra and his production company Prime Focus Studios, which recently co-produced The Garfield Movie with Alcon Entertainment. DAY 244 OF GENOCIDE: UNRWA SCHOOL BOMBED BY ISRAELI WARPLANES, DOZENS OF GAZANS KILLED


As the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip enters its 244th day, the occupation army committed on Thursday a massacre in a school affiliated with the Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in which hundreds of displaced people in Nusseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, reside, killing and wounding dozens.

WAFA correspondent said that the medical teams and civil defense recovered 32 bodies of killed Palestinians and dozens of injuries from the Male Al -Nusairat Preparatory School, which houses displaced people in Camp 2 in Nuseirat.

He pointed out that an Israeli war plane targeted the upper floors of the school at night as people were sleeping, which led to killing and injuring a large number of them.

Six people were killed and others were wounded as a result of the bombing of the occupation aircraft of a house owned by Al -Madani family in the camp.

The occupation artillery launched a violent shelling that affected the eastern region of Al -Bureij camp in the middle of the Gaza S
trip, as the warplanes launched fire in the vicinity of a hall in the camp.

The occupation artillery shelled areas on the east of Al -Bureij and Al -Maghazi camps in the central Gaza Strip, while the artillery stationed in Netsarim axis targeted several shells of the homes of citizens in Tal Al -Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City and the Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of the city.

Additionally, the Israeli warplanes bombed areas in the neighborhoods of the eastern and central city of Rafah, coinciding with artillery shelling, as the occupation forces opened fire extensively towards the homes of citizens east of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources confirmed that the death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7 has risen to 36,586 reported Palestinian fatalities, with an additional 83,074 individuals sustaining injuries.

The number of victims is expected to increase further as rescue and emergency teams face challenges in accessing the affected areas, with hundreds more feared buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings.

DUBAI: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, honoured the winners of the 13th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) 2024 organised by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The award aims to encourage public and private entities to adopt sustainable transport solutions, preserve the environment, and improve transport safety.

His Highness was welcomed at the venue of the award ceremony, the Dubai World Trade Centre, by Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, RTA, and a host of directors from public and private entities.

The scope of the award has also expanded to include more government and semi-government organisations, as well as private businesses, allowing them to contribute to the development of sustainable transport in the UAE.” he added

Objectives

Key objectives of the award include raising awareness and e
ncouraging community organisations and individuals to actively support RTA in developing a safe and easily accessible transport system for all. It showcases RTA’s pioneering efforts in forging partnerships with various organisations in mobility, safety, and environmental protection.

The award also emphasises the importance of sustainable transport, safety, and the environment, making them primary concerns for institutions and the local media. It seeks to spread awareness, a sense of responsibility and the spirit of initiative among society in matters related to transport, safety, and the environment. Additionally, it stimulates creativity and leadership in various fields of mobility to maximise benefits for all. The award also provides technical support and high-level expertise to the community and institutions through the Resource Centre for DAST.

Target groups

All organisations across the region can participate in DAST by making submissions for initiatives and practices compatible with the award’s requir
ements and categories. Entries are open to local and regional government institutions, private organisations, public benefit organisations, and individuals in the categories of ‘Best Research’, ‘Academic Project’, ‘Best Research’, and ‘Best Student Project’.

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation criteria for the award include governance and planning strategy, sustainability initiatives and results, leadership, competitiveness, excellence, implementation and development methodology of initiatives, innovation and knowledge transfer, objectivity, design, deliverables, contribution to increasing community awareness of sustainability issues and global sustainable development goals, participation in related events, workshops and activities, and the contribution of various entities to achieving the strategic goals and objectives of the RTA.

Impartial jury

Submissions for the award are reviewed by an independent and impartial jury composed of specialised experts from educational institutions and other organisations
outside of RTA. The committee creates sub-committees for each award category. The evaluation and testing of the winning submissions are conducted according to specific principles and criteria. For instance, each initiative must have a clear title that reflects its nature and objectives. Every assessment criterion includes multiple fields and sub-benchmarks.
