UN Women’s Representative in Palestine, Maryse Guimond, said after her visit to Gaza: “Whole families have been wiped out in some airstrikes, and everyone she meets has terrible stories.”
“You see destruction everywhere in Gaza and people living in destroyed buildings and people trying to get food and water, and then you see vast expanses of tents,” Guimond said in a post on X.
She noted that in the war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces killed more than 10,000 women, including 6,000 mothers, leaving behind more than 19,000 orphans. “It is time for this war to end,” Guimond said.
