Doha: October 04 – Egyptian player Nouran Gohar, ranked second, has advanced to the final of the Qatar QTerminals Classic Squash Championship 2024 for the first time in Doha.
Gohar secured her spot in the final by defeating American player Olivia Weaver, ranked fifth, with a score of three games to one (11-5, 6-11, 11-9, 11-6) in a match that lasted 54 minutes.
Gohar will face her compatriot Nour El Sherbini, the top seed who qualified for her third final in Doha after defeating last year’s champion and third-ranked Hania El Hammamy in a thrilling five-game match.
Speaking to the Qatar News Agency following her victory, Gohar expressed her immense happiness at reaching the final of the Qatar Championship, describing it as one of the biggest and most important tournaments in squash. She noted that all players aspire to win this prestigious title, praising the Qatari Squash Federation and the organizing committee for delivering a world-class championship in Qatar.

ostafa Asal, ranked third, successfully reached the final by defeating Welsh player Joel Makin three games to one (5-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-4).
This final marks Asal’s first appearance in the Qatar Championship. Having already won the titles at the Egypt International and the Paris tournament earlier this season, he will seek to claim his first title in Doha when he faces Peruvian player Diego Elias, who advanced earlier by defeating top-ranked Ali Farag in straight games.
Asal expressed his joy at reaching his first final in Qatar, stating in a post-match interview that he would do his utmost to stand atop the podium in Doha, especially given the significant public support and attention the tournament has garnered, motivating him to strive for victory tomorrow.
