The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UAE Chambers) and the Malta Chamber of Commerce discussed the possibility of establishing a joint business council under the umbrella of the chambers, along with plans for a UAE trade mission to visit Malta in 2025 to explore available opportunities.
During a meeting in Abu Dhabi with Chris Vassallo, President of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Humaid Mohamed bin Salem, Secretary-General of UAE Chambers, emphasised the importance of increasing meetings and trade delegation exchanges between the Emirati and Maltese business communities to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Bin Salem highlighted the interest of UAE business owners in learning about investment opportunities in Malta, reaffirming the UAE Chambers’ readiness to coordinate with the Maltese side and activate the signed memorandums of understanding between both parties. He noted that these efforts would facilitate joint meetings and events where business
owners from both countries could discuss ways to establish business ventures, alliances, and partnerships.
Highlighting the strong ties between the Emirati and Maltese business communities, the President of the Malta Chamber of Commerce underscored Malta’s economic features and the incentives it offers to attract investments and encourage innovation, such as tax cuts and business incubators.
