Discussions and workshops on agriculture will begin today as part of the Madinah Dates Season 2024, with the participation of several academics and experts specializing in the date palm sector, including logistics and financing services, from various governmental and private entities.
The Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host the discussion sessions over the course of 10 days. The sessions will address solutions to challenges related to palm pests and their integrated management. They will also explore the future of artificial intelligence in smart agriculture, methods for detecting plant diseases, and ways to harness technology to improve date cultivation and production efficiency.
The workshops will cover control practices for the red palm weevil pest and review the stages of date production, from planting to harvest, as well as storage and packaging techniques to maintain quality.
