Al Ain Zoo hosted the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Ladies Run for the fourth year, with the aim of giving women the opportunity to participate in one of the most enjoyable and delightful sports.

The number of participants reached 165, who all came for the love of running and the amazing natural landscape, creating a lively environment where many exciting sports activities have taken place amid the most wonderful nature of the Zoo, which also offers multiple services and entertainment facilities of the highest level.

The race started at 7 a.m. in three categories: 3 km, 5 km and 10 km, with the starting line at the Zoo’s entrance. The track ran through the picturesque Al Ain Safari area, the UAE World Desert, the Arabian Exhibit and the Big Cat Oasis, and then on to the end point along the same path to the main entrance of the Zoo.

The runners were in luck as the winter weather was exceptionally beautiful and they got to enjoy the amazing variety of wildlife, the wonderful atmosphere and landscape of the Zoo, while adhering to all necessary COVID-19 precautionary measures, including the Al Hosn green pass, a PCR negative test result within a maximum of 96 hours before the race, and constantly wearing facemasks.

The goal of the race, organised by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, is to promote community participation and empower women of different age groups, prompting them to follow a healthy and active lifestyle by running or jogging, a sport ideal for people of all ages.
