The match was interrupted for 10 minutes as the referee paused the game due to Atletico Madrid fans throwing objects at Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois after he celebrated the lead. Play resumed after the situation calmed down.
This draw marked Real Madrid’s third in the league after having achieved four consecutive victories. With this result, Real Madrid remains in second place with 18 points, trailing Barcelona by 3 points. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid is now in third place with 16 points.
