GEOSA Participates in 7th High-Level Forum on Geospatial Information in Mexico


The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) participated in the 7th High-Level Forum on Global Geospatial Information Management, hosted by the UN in Mexico from October 8 to 10.

The event, chaired by Saudi Arabia, featured key speeches and presentations focusing on the progress of the Arab Committee of United Nations Experts on Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).

Chair of the Arab Committee Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel presented a summary of the most significant initiatives and achievements of the Arab Committee and its regional working groups, and emphasized the committee’s contributions to global geospatial initiatives through collaboration with UN-GGIM working groups.

Al-Sayel chaired the session titled “The Future of the Incubator Environment for Geospatial Information”, highlighting the critical role geospatial information plays in supporting national development goals and improving services.

He noted Saudi Arabia’s contribution to launching the geospatial informa
tion incubator project under GEOSA, which set a global example with this innovative approach.

Al-Sayel also underscored the unanimous UN approval to establish and host the Global Center for the Incubator Environment for Geospatial Information in Riyadh, which marks a significant milestone for the Kingdom in global geospatial management.

GEOSA will continue to collaborate with international counterparts to organize and improve the geospatial sector in Saudi Arabia, and ensure improved performance and quality of services.
