The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, has launched a project to evaluate the state of digital transformation in hospitals and health centers across the Kingdom and create a strategic roadmap for future digital projects in the healthcare sector.
The project is part of an agreement with “Presight,” an Abu Dhabi-based company specializing in big data analytics using artificial intelligence.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship on Sunday, it was announced that the project will implement a series of digital transformation efforts within the Ministry of Health. These efforts will involve reviewing current procedures, identifying gaps, and developing a comprehensive strategy and action plan aligned with the national digital transformation goals.
Presight’s role will include bringing Abu Dhabi’s advanced health data solutions to Jordan, enhancing the efficiency and outcomes of the healthcare system.
Minister of Di
gital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh stated that over six months, Presight will propose several initiatives to improve healthcare services and reduce treatment costs.
He noted that key components of the agreement include developing a platform for health data exchange, studying the most effective business model for its operation, and launching remote healthcare services through a virtual hospital. Additionally, the initiative will establish a patient billing system in government hospitals and health centers.
Minister of Health Firas Hawari underlined the ministry’s commitment to advancing digital transformation, with projects focused on assessing digital maturity, developing a roadmap, and creating a health information exchange strategy to promote electronic collaboration among healthcare providers. He added that the project also involves establishing a virtual hospital in Salt.
Presight’s Chief Operations Officer, Adel Sharji, remarked that the goal of the project is to combine artificial inte
lligence and human expertise to build a healthier future for Jordan and beyond.
