Italian Minister of Agriculture hails Mansour bin Zayed’s support for Arabian horse racing development plans in Italy


SYRACUSE: Francesco Lollobrigida. Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, has commended the pivotal role of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in driving substantial progress in Arabian horse racing at Italy’s racetracks in recent years.

This came during a joint meeting between the Italian Minister and Faisal Al-Rahmani, the Chairman of the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing (IFAHR) during their participation in a conference on EU food sovereignty, which was attended by the Ministers of the G7 Group, the European Commissioner for Agriculture, the African Union Commissioner for Agriculture, as well as the heads of the three United Nations agencies in Rome (the Food and Agriculture Organisation, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and the World Food Programme), along with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the Consultative Group for Internation
al Agricultural Research. The conference took place in the city of Syracuse, on the island of Sicily, Italy.

The Italian Minister also praised the outstanding efforts and continuous development initiatives led by the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing, chaired by the UAE, emphasising that the development of the racing system in Italy positively reflects the growth and progress of Arabian horses across Europe and the world.
