A delegation from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Jordan on Sunday visited the Zaatari camp for Syrian refugees, accompanied by representatives of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the KSrelief’s support to the WFP in its response to the refugees’ humanitarian needs.
The visit came after the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, provided a financial contribution of $12.8 million, which complements the support provided by the Kingdom to the program over the past four years, with the aim of providing food needs for Syrian refugees.
Director of the KSrelief branch in Jordan, Nayef bin Saleh al-Shammari, said that KSrelief continues its efforts to meet the needs of Syrian refugees, and this support comes to alleviate refugee burdens in light of the difficult challenges they face.
For his part, WFP Country Director in Jordan, Alberto Correa Mendez, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fo
r its continuous support, noting that the latest support contributed to the continuation of providing vital assistance to refugees in the camps.
