Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz has visited this year’s Madinah Dates Season exhibition, held near the Quba Mosque.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in collaboration with the National Centre for Palms and Dates, and the Madinah Chamber of Commerce.
Prince Salman toured different sections, where local agricultural produce and industries that add value to the date palm sector were on display. The exhibition highlighted the region’s 5.6 million date palms and their significant contribution to the Kingdom’s food security strategies.
The exhibition featured over 50 sales outlets, tasting and cooking areas, handicrafts from local producers, and interactive experiences for visitors.
It brought together public and private entities, to promote agricultural sector initiatives and efforts, and present financing and logistics services to investors in the region.
The exhibition is part of the dates season activities aimed at strengthening
the sector, increasing production, and encouraging investment, and thus contributing to the local economy, consistent with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
