The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a forecast predicting thunderstorms of varying intensity across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
The center’s weather bulletin indicates that regions including Taiz, Ibb, Dhale’, Dhamar, Raymah, Mahweet, Hajjah, and Sa’ada will experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
Additionally, scattered rain is expected in parts of the Tihama plain and along the coasts of Taiz, Hodeida, and Hajjah.
The forecast also mentions possible scattered showers in the highlands of Bayda, Marib, Jawf, Shabwa, Hadhramaut, Mahrah, Abyan, and Lahj.
Recent rainfall measurements from various meteorological stations report:
– Hajjah: 21 mm
– Raymah: 18.4 mm
– Al Hudaydah: 15.5 mm
– Al Bayda: 9.4 mm
– Al Mahwit: 9 mm
– Dhamar: 4 mm
– Ataq: 3.4 mm
The center cautions residents against staying in valleys or flood-prone areas and advises against crossing ground bridges. Thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, reduced visibility, and potential structural
collapses due to ongoing rainfall are also highlighted as risks.
