Morocco secured a 1-0 win over Ghana in their opening Group C match at the Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.
Sofiane Boufal goal came from a rare chance in an unimpressive game where both sides mostly focused on their defensive prowess.
Morocco next play Comoros on Friday followed by Ghana against Gabon in the late game.
In another clash, Sadio Mané converted a penalty more than six minutes into stoppage time as Senegal escaped with a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe on Monday as both sides opened Group B in Bafoussam.
Mané sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and drilled the penalty into the left corner after Senegal produced a misfiring first performance in Cameroon for much of the game.
In Group B, Guinea’s Issiaga Sylla scored a first-half goal to steer his side to a fortunate 1-0 victory over Malawi at the Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam. Guinea moved level with Senegal at the top of the group.
