PMO signs agreements on strategic intelligence tools to advance We the UAE 2031


DUBAI: The UAE Prime Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) with the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) and TRENDS Research and Advisory to enhance the UAE Government’s strategic intelligence tools and help achieve the goals of the ”We the UAE 2031” vision.

The signings took place at the Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils 2024 (AMGFC24) in Dubai, which gathered 500 officials, experts and academics from 80 countries.

The MoU is designed to enable partners to benefit from the content of the ‘We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence’ platform, which was launched during AMGFC24. The platform represents a new model for designing government strategies and policies – one that is supported by AI and based on a deep pool of global knowledge and data informed by more than 2,500 international experts and over 450 sources.

The MoU with the UICCA focuses on the environmental and sustainability aspects of We the UAE 2031. It aims to foster
the exchange of best practices, empower national talents, and promote participation in international sustainable development initiatives. As well as supporting We the UAE 2031, the agreement is in line with the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative. It was signed by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of UICCA, and Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs.

Sheikha Shamma said: ‘This partnership reinforces the essential role played by the UICCA in achieving the country’s strategic sustainability and climate goals.’

She added: ‘Through our contribution to the We the UAE 2031 vision, we aim to foster innovative climate solutions and boost the UAE’s efforts to achieve net zero by 2050. Climate action is a shared responsibility, and by integrating efforts across sectors, the UICCA is committed to contributing to building a more sustainable and resilient future for the UAE and the world.’

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TREND
S Research and Advisory, said: ‘We’re delighted to sign this agreement with the UAE Prime Minister’s Office on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils.’

He highlighted that TRENDS works through its researchers, experts, studies, training programs, and opinion polls to provide rich content that helps specialists, academics, institutions, and organizations achieve their goals by leveraging scientific research and data. He noted that the agreement will enable TRENDS to support We the UAE 2031 through research and by providing studies on various strategic issues and policies.

He added: ‘TRENDS is keen to enhance the capabilities of young Emirati researchers as they are the builders and leaders of the future.’

As well as launching the We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence platform at AMGFC24, the UAE Government established eight UAE Strategic Intelligence Councils in collaboration with the Global Future Councils. These eight UAE-led councils will convene government leaders and experts from the network of Global Future Councils as well as business leaders to achieve the goals of the We the UAE 2031 vision.
