Sana’a meeting enhances cooperation between ministries to Boost administrative development

In a pivotal meeting held on Monday, Eng. Maeen al-Mahaqeri, Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment, and Dr. Khaled al-Hawali, Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development, discussed strategies to advance administrative development and service automation.

The meeting, attended by key officials including the Deputy Minister of Economy Ahmed al-Shawtari and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service Abdullah Haider, focused on several critical areas:

– Enhanced Coordination: Both ministers stressed the importance of improved communication and alignment between their ministries to support the Government of Change and Construction program. They highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to streamline and integrate state functions.

– Completion of Electronic Services: Minister al-Mahaqeri underscored the urgency of finalizing electronic services within the Ministry of Economy and its affiliated institutions. This step is integral to advancing the Ministry of Civil Service’s ongoing re
form and development initiatives.

– Training and Efficiency: A key agreement was made on the necessity for systematic training and qualification programs aimed at improving worker efficiency and enhancing service quality.

– Digital Transition: Dr. al-Hawali advocated for a transition to electronic and digital systems to simplify service delivery and update procedural guides, which is crucial for modernizing administrative processes.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to developing a coordination framework to achieve the following objectives:

– Finalize and simplify service guides within the Ministry of Economy.

– Enhance and expand the investor services guide and interactive services.

– Introduce a national number for the commercial register.

This collaborative effort aims to streamline services and improve the administrative framework, benefiting both the public sector and the broader business community.
