The International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has secured the bid to host its annual conference in 2026. The decision was made during the association’s current conference in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Saudi Attorney General Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib highlighted that the Kingdom’s selection underscores its growing global influence and active participation in international organizations. He emphasized that this reflects the continuous development of the Saudi Public Prosecution on an international scale and reaffirms its key role in promoting justice and facilitating global judicial communication. Sheikh Al-Mujib noted that the event will offer a platform for exchanging expertise and enhancing judicial systems, benefiting member states and their populations.
The Saudi Public Prosecution submitted the bid and won the majority vote from the IAP’s Executive Committee, which includes representatives from public prosecution offices and legal bodies worldwide.
The IAP
is the world’s largest organization of public prosecutors, boasting over 170 members from public prosecution agencies and international criminal justice organizations. The association focuses on shaping policy, fostering international cooperation on criminal justice, and strengthening prosecution capabilities while upholding human rights within criminal proceedings.
