The Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) Festival 2024 started today under the patronage of Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz.

Themed “Discover Your Passion .. Unlock Your Potential”, the event is organized by the King Salman Science Oasis; it will go on until September 30.

At the opening, Prince Mohammed and visitors toured the festival exhibition and were shown a presentation of this year’s activities.

King Salman Science Oasis Executive Director Dr. Khalid Taher thanked Prince Mohammed for attending and expressed the oasis staff’s excitement about hosting STEAM Festival.

Taher highlighted the diverse programs and events the oasis carried out in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics employing interactive and engaging educational approaches that align with the country’s research, development, and innovation priorities.

This year’s festival focuses on “Fun Chemistry: The World of Chemistry and Petrochemicals”, one
of Saudi Arabia’s priorities.

“The petrochemical sector, a crucial economic segment, significantly contributes to non-oil exports from Saudi Arabia,” he said.

The STEAM Festival 2024 is the result of collaboration between the King Salman Science Oasis, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science.
