Tahnoon bin Zayed chairs second MGX Board Meeting


ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of MGX, presided over the Company’s second Board of Directors meeting today.

The meeting underscored MGX’s pivotal role in harnessing advanced technologies to foster innovation and enhance global living standards.

During the meeting, Sheikh Tahnoon highlighted MGX’s importance in adopting cutting-edge technologies and promoting innovation to develop various sectors. He emphasised that these efforts are crucial for advancing business operations and improving the quality of life for individuals and nations, ultimately building a prosperous future.

The Board reviewed and approved several strategic initiatives, focusing on investments in digital infrastructure, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence. These initiatives align with MGX’s mission to build a diversified investment portfolio that positions the company as a leader in the technology and innovation sectors.

Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Vice Chairman of the Board, along with Board members Jassim Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Peng Xiao, Martin Edelman, and Ahmed Yahia Al-Idrissi, attended the meeting.

MGX, established last March (2024) through a strategic partnership between Mubadala and G42, is a technology investment firm committed to enabling and developing cutting-edge technologies. The company aims to employ these technologies to improve the lives of current and future generations and make significant contributions to global technological progress.

In January 2024, the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC), chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon, was established to devel
op and implement policies and strategies related to AI and advanced technologies in Abu Dhabi. AIATC is vital in fostering research, investments, and collaborations with local and international partners, positioning Abu Dhabi as a global leader in AI and advanced technology.

AIATC’s initiatives, including the formation of MGX, are part of a broader strategy to ensure Abu Dhabi’s leadership in artificial intelligence and advanced technology, focusing on creating sustainable and impactful innovations.
