The occupation postpones the trial of colleague Rasha Harzallah until December 15

Ramallah – Ma’an – The Israeli occupation authorities postponed, on Sunday, the military court trial of the journalist at the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), Rasha Harzallah, until December 15.

The Prisoners Club said that the occupation court decided to postpone Harzallah’s session and extend her detention for the sixth time in a row until December 15, after it was scheduled for today, October 13, under the pretext of the Jewish holidays.

On August 11, the military occupation court extended her detention for the fifth time, until today.

It is noteworthy that the occupation intelligence had summoned colleague Harzallah on June 2, 2024, for investigation in the “Huwara” prison, and at that time her detention was extended for 72 hours, and then for five days, after which she was transferred to the “Damon” prison.

A court session was held for our colleague Harzallah on June 10, and her detention was extended for two weeks. On June 24, another court session was held, during which her detention
was extended until August 11.

Herzallah is among about 94 journalists who have been arrested since the beginning of the war of extermination in Gaza, where the occupation has kept (53) of them in detention, the last of whom was journalist Hamza Zioud from Jenin who was arrested at dawn today. Among the journalists are five female journalists: (Rula Hassanein, Bushra Al-Tawil, Asmaa Ahreesh, Rasha Herzallah, and the student journalist at Birzeit University Amal Shujaiya), and (16) journalists from Gaza at least whose identities we were able to verify, and among the journalists (17) are under administrative detention, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.
