UEFA Champions League’s draw results in tantalising clashes

ISTANBUL, 25th August, 2022 (WAM)– The UEFA Champions League draw was held earlier here today, resulting in some significant clashes in the group stage, with Barcelona’s Lewandowski’s Bayern Munich homecoming headlining Group C and the Premier League champions Manchester City leading Group G, where they will face Sevilla, Dortmund and FC Copenhagen, while Real Madrid received a favorable draw with RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic The draw, which took place in the city that will host the final in June 2023, saw the Catalans face the German giants in a consensus group of death with Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen joining them,while Juventus is set to clash with Saint-Germain.

Liverpool, the last edition, runners-up, are in Group A with Ajax, Napoli and Rangers. The Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt may have a favorable chance at advancing from Group D alongside Sporting CP, Tottenham Hotspur and Olympique de Marseille.

The eight groups run as follows: Group A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli and Rangers.

Group B: Porto, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge.

Group C: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen.

Group D: Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting Lisbon and Marseille.

Group E: AC Milan, Chelsea, RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb.

Group F: Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic.

Group G: Manchester City, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund and FC Copenhagen.

Group H: PSG, Juventus, Benfica and Maccabi Haifa.
