World stock markets positive awaiting FED’s clues on rate hikes

World stock markets edged higher Thursday fueled by U.S. mega-cap growth stocks gains, while bond yields remained unchanged as investors continued to wait for Federal Reserve’s next meeting for insights to combat inflation.

Following suit, European shares ended higher on Thursday as oil and tech stocks rose, although gains were capped by mounting concerns over a possible recession induced by an energy crisis, Reuters reported.

The pan-European STOXX 600 rose 0.3%. Energy shares jumped 1.2% to near 12-week highs as crude prices climbed on mounting supply concerns.

In Asia, share markets were positive, with investors also awaiting the US Federal Reserve’s annual conference for clues on interest rate hikes.
