Sharjah Ruler Approves Structure of Sharjah Government Nurseries

Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved a new organisational structure for government-run nurseries in Sharjah. This decision was made during a meeting this morning at Al Badi’ Palace with Dr Muhadditha Al Hashimi, head of the Sharjah Private Education Authority and the Sharjah Education Academy.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan also reviewed plans for the upcoming school year, commending the efforts of Sharjah’s educational institutions, encompassing both private schools and nurseries. He highlighted their dedication to providing a high-quality education, reflecting Sharjah’s strong emphasis on the well-being and development of children and students, while also catering to parental expectations.

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan stressed the significance of integrating efforts among the various educational entities in the emirate. This integration aims to ensure the provision of quality education that upholds authentic values while remaining aligned with the latest global practices in the education sector.

Sheikh Sultan received an overview of the education landscape in Sharjah, where approximately 200,000 students are currently enrolled in private schools. The emirate also accommodates about 8,000 children in private and government nurseries. Sharjah is home to 128 private schools and 155 nurseries, which include 37 government-run and 118 private facilities. Additionally, there are 187 training centres available.

For the current school year, plans include the opening of four new schools, six private nurseries, and 32 new training centres.
